  • CLUB CLEAN DAY

    THIS SATURDAY 19 MAY

Please come and volunteer a couple of hours of your time to spruce up the clubhouse and dinghy park. You could at least tidy up your own boat park space - weeding etc.

Gill will be there for breakfast and possibly lunch.

    See you on Saturday.

    Chris Burrows - Commodore.

  • Novice Race Day - 5th May

This year has got off to a cracking start for the novices. First, on 21st April, a dedicated core of 13 novices attended a day’s free race training led by Richard Beardsley and supported by Kirsten Claiden-Yardley. Despite some quite serious gusts, the group showed great enthusiasm and dedication, practicing starts, mark rounding and beats. It was an inspiring day, and all there promised to attend most of the Saturday Novice series, thereby ensuring that we have a good competitive summer.

Saturday 5th saw the first novice race day of the series. Again, 13 competed in all. The north easterly breeze proved very shifty throughout the day which challenged both the race officer, Kirsten and the sailors.

  • Locking-up times

Will all members please note that Thames Water have changed the time they lock the gates.

From now until 26th May, the gates will be locked at 7.30pm and not unlocked until 8.00am.

As leaseholders, club members are entitled to come and go as they please, but we are responsible for locking and unlocking the gates outside these core hours.

Please make sure you are aware of the opening and closing times, and that you are able to leave by 7.30pm. If you are attending an event, club racing etc. please make sure there is a committee member available who has a key to the gate. Please also remember to lock the gate after you -- there are two padlocks which must be intertwined so either can unlock the chain.

    Many thanks

    Chris Burrows - Commodore.
